Brett A. Taylor, MD – Adult Spine Surgeon
Dr. Taylor is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who specializes in the treatment of the spine. He is a native of St. Louis and received his Medical Degree from Harvard University. Dr. Taylor is fellowship trained in spine surgery at Thomas Jefferson University. He is a former assistant professor at Washington University and served in the US Air Force as the Chief of Spine Surgery.
Joshua Newman, MS, PA-C
Joshua is a board-certified physician assistant and joined The Taylor Spine Team in July 2012. He completed his training at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in North Chicago, Illinois prior to returning to St. Louis. He is enthusiastic about providing the highest quality spinal care to meet your needs through evidence-based medicine and patient outcomes.
Alyssa Visconti
Alyssa has been a member of The Taylor Spine Team since 2005 and functions as the administrator and billing specialist. Alyssa plays a key role in supervising and supporting the staff at TCCO. She is also the billing manager and HIPAA officer. She is very knowledgeable about the day-to-day functions of the office. She also has significant experience in matters involving workers compensation, litigation, and depositions.
Rachel Gist
Rachel Gist is the Operations Coordinator at TCCO, where she assists with day-to-day operations, coordinates communication between clinical and administrative teams, and ensures a smooth experience for both patients and referring providers. A Truman State graduate with a background in real estate, teaching, and sales, Rachel values family, hard work, and making a difference — even if it’s in just one person’s life. She enjoys working with people who share those same values and genuinely care about the work they do. Rachel brings structure, compassion, and reliability to every part of the patient journey.
Brittany Dlugos
Brittany has been a member of the Taylor Spine Team since October 2024 and functions as the medical receptionist. Brittany plays a role in supporting the team with patient care, scheduling, medical records and billing. She has a bachelor’s degree in health science with a pre-med concentration from Truman State University. Brittany has a passion for making a difference in people’s lives and hopes to bring positive and welcoming energy to all the patients at TCCO.
